About

Hi! I’m Danielle, and I welcome you to Cookbook Confessions! I started this blog in August 2010 as a means to document my trials and tribulations in the kitchen. After becoming an avid fan of the food blogging community, I decided to throw myself head first into a culinary adventure of my own. I do not claim to be a fantastic chef, but rather an enthusiastic and passionate novice of food, photography, and writing.  I invite you to follow along with me on this exploration through food and life.  

My family would probably tell you that it is somewhat ironic that I am a food blogger. As a child and as a teenager, I was an extremely picky eater and refused to eat anything green. I’m not kidding, I had serious issues with vegetables and green foods up until college.  I still have some bad feelings towards certain vegetables, but it’s my hope that this experience will change that. In college, I was lucky to have awesome roommates and friends who helped me expand my extremely limited palate. It was also around this time in my life, that I discovered that I actually really enjoyed cooking and entertaining for my friends and family.

I currently live in St. Louis, which has become my adopted hometown. I recently completed my Masters of Education, and got my first teaching job teaching high school history. Throughout this blog, you will probably pick up on my historical dorkiness (see: Apple Pie Cupcakes). Also, I should probably make you aware that I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I’m darn proud of it. I've even made Butterbeer =)
